After builders cleaning
Hi everyone, I’m hoping some of you might have experience with this because I’m a bit overwhelmed. We’ve just finished a major renovation in our house – new kitchen, new flooring, plastering and decorating throughout – and while I’m delighted it’s all done, the amount of dust and debris left behind is driving me mad. I thought the builders would clear up properly, but apparently “cleaning” in their language means shoving some rubbish into bags and giving the floor a quick sweep. The reality is that everything is coated in a fine layer of dust and I’ve realised I probably need to look into after builders cleaning to get the place truly liveable again.
The problem is, I don’t know how necessary it is to hire professionals. Part of me thinks I could just spend a few weekends scrubbing, but then I look around and see how bad it is. Every cupboard, every skirting board, even the light fittings seem to have plaster dust on them. When I wipe a surface, the cloth just smears the dust instead of removing it. Has anyone else found that this kind of dust is much harder to get rid of than normal?
I’ve read that after builders cleaning is more intense than standard cleaning, involving things like specialist vacuums with HEPA filters, proper removal of paint splatters and adhesive residues, and even washing walls down. That sounds like exactly what I need, but I’ve never booked anything like it before and don’t know what’s reasonable to expect. Do they literally clean every surface top to bottom, or just the main areas?
Another concern is cost. Renovations already stretched our budget, so I’m hesitant to spend more money. But at the same time, I feel like if I don’t do it properly now, the house will never feel fresh. Does anyone know what kind of price range is normal for after builders cleaning in the UK?
I also wonder about timing. Should it be done immediately after the builders leave, or is it better to wait a bit for any leftover dust to settle before paying for professionals?
So my question is: has anyone here used an [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and did it make a big difference compared to trying to do it yourself? I’d love to know whether it’s worth the money or just another unnecessary expense after an already costly renovation.
